"Avoya Travel is by far the worst agency I've dealt with."
Avoya Travel is by far the worst agency I've dealt with. They have a knack for misleading customers with inaccurate info about their services and package deals. It feels like their team is mostly made up of lawyers and con artists. To make matters worse, they provide zero customer service. Once they trick you into signing their lengthy paperwork, you can forget about any communication, unless it’s a threatening note about a possible lawsuit. I highly recommend picking any other agency for your travel needs, as you’re bound to have a way better experience somewhere else.

"Caution! Steer clear of this product!"
The representative didn’t get back to us about our flights for an Oceania Cruise. As a result, we missed the chance to adjust or personalize our travel plans. This led to my elderly parents being booked on a different flight, and we ended up arriving at the airport after the cruise ship had already started boarding. To fix this mess, we had to buy tickets for the day before, just to make sure we were all on the same flight.

On top of that, the agent failed to send us emails about dining reservations that had opened up, which meant we lost out on priority dining options. When my dad had to back out due to health issues, we ran into trouble getting the right documents from the agent for the insurance claim. Even though we got several copies of my mom's new reservation, there was no info about my dad's cancellation. Because of this, we can’t get reimbursed, despite having shelled out over $800 for insurance, since we can’t get the right paperwork from the agent.

I’ve tried reaching out to customer service countless times, spending hours on hold, only to be told that the agent operates independently and they can’t help us. Right now, we’re looking at a loss of nearly $6000 in cruise fees, extra airfare, and worthless insurance.

"My experience mirrored many others."
My experience was pretty much like what others have said. At first, they had some nice promises on their site, but sadly, they went back on those after I booked. Maybe they meant well, but I'd suggest going with trusted travel sites and OTAs that really follow through on their commitments.

"The agent's conduct was shockingly negligent, and the service was quite poor."
I booked a trip with Avoya's agent, 'Dano.' Sadly, he didn't deliver on the shipboard credit he promised, and by the time we figured it out, it was too late to change anything. On top of that, he messed up our airline booking, which meant we got to our departure port late at night instead of the early morning two days before the cruise. This left us with just one day to check out the historic city before we set sail, instead of the two days we had planned. I held off on writing this review because soon after we got back, my spouse was diagnosed with a terminal illness. Dano's thoughtless and subpar service robbed my spouse of that extra day in port, which she was really looking forward to. So, I can't, in good faith, recommend him or the Avoya travel agency.

"Can't seem to get off this mailing list."
I keep getting hit with all these promotional emails from them, and it's super annoying. Even though I've tried to unsubscribe a bunch of times, the emails just keep coming. I’ve even flagged them as spam, but they still somehow end up in my inbox.

"Avoid this company if you can."
I really think you should steer clear of this company. Sadly, I lost an $800 deposit because the agent didn’t cancel a trip I had clearly asked to be canceled.

"Avoid This Company Like the Plague!"
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! Lorraine A was more of a hassle than a help, creating unnecessary issues and confusion. Even though we were new to cruising, we had to keep reminding her about everything, including Disney deals she didn’t have a clue about. When we asked for a summary of our travel plans in one email, she just sent us back to earlier messages, giving us no help at all. To top it off, after our cruise, we found ourselves stuck at the port because the ground transport she set up was MIA. Lorraine had the nerve to pin the blame on Disney transport and wouldn’t give us a refund, even though we had no idea how our ground transport was supposed to reach us or who they were before the trip. Thankfully, the cruise itself was fantastic thanks to Disney's top-notch service. The only silver lining of the trip being done is that we’re finally free from dealing with Lorraine and Avoya. I’d never use Lorraine or Avoya Travel again, and I wouldn’t even suggest them to my worst enemy.

"I felt deserted and cheated."
Avoya refused to look into their agent who left me in a lurch. Only 12 hours before I was set to leave, she suddenly cancelled the international flights I had already booked and paid for. On top of that, she didn’t bother to set up any other plans after the cancellation. This was a truly awful experience.

"Every time I hit their site, I regret it..."
I really wish I could take back every time I check out their website.

I bet a lot of you know the feeling. You’re looking for a cruise and just want to peek at a few travel agency sites to see what’s out there. Honestly, you ought to be able to do that without giving up your privacy.

But after I stumbled onto Avoya Travel's site and took a look at their prices, I started regretting it more and more.

This site demands personal info before they’ll show you any prices. Because of that, I ended up getting bombarded with calls from their agents and a never-ending flood of email ads that I couldn’t get rid of. I hit the unsubscribe link in my email, but it just sent me to their site with no clear way to opt-out. The constant newsletters just kept rolling in.

I really recommend checking out the complaints on their Better Business Bureau page, from both customers and employees, before you think about doing any business with them.

"Not every Avoya agent is a direct employee of the company."
All agents associated with Avoya are independent travel professionals who work alongside the company but aren't technically under its control. I had been collaborating with one of these agents for about 3-4 years until last year when the pandemic hit and my cruise got canceled by the cruise line. I tried reaching out to my agent for over six weeks but got no reply. Since I booked through an agent, the cruise line wouldn’t talk to me directly. So, I contacted Avoya and asked for their help, which they provided. But instead of asking for Future Cruise Credits to keep my benefits, they went for a full refund. Sadly, they couldn’t change the outcome of my booking. I had used gift cards to pay for part of the cruise, and that part of my refund came back in gift cards. When I wanted to book a new cruise, the cruise line told me to go back to Avoya because of my previous perks and all that. I did return to Avoya, but I’ve run into a bunch of problems with the agent they assigned to me. He’s a nice guy, but there have been issues with my booking right from the start. When I reached out to Avoya about these problems and the inconsistencies in my invoice, they told me that all their agents are independent and they can’t manage my dealings with him or fix payment issues. As a result, I’ve had to call the cruise line several times, sitting on hold for at least half an hour each time, only to find out that my booking shows as fully paid on their end, even though I don’t have any paperwork to back that up. Given this experience, I won’t be using Avoya again, and I’d advise anyone thinking about using one of their agents to make sure they understand what services they’ll actually get and if there’s any way to address problems if they come up.
